Sarah Doucette

Friends and neighbours,

For the past eight years I have had the tremendous honour of representing you as your City Councillor. Together, we have helped create a safer, more livable community for all residents of Ward 13.  Being your Councillor was been a humbling experience, and one of the highlights of my life, and I am eternally grateful for each and every one of you.

For the past month I have been preparing transition documents for Councillor Perks. Despite best efforts, there will be a period of change as the two wards merge and staff from different Community Councils become one. While the wrinkles will still need to be ironed out across the City, I know that Gord can always be reached to help you with your City concerns.

Councillor Gord Perks

Being an elected official has its ups and downs, but it has continually been an enriching experience for me.  All too often you hear about the worst in politicians. I want to let you in on a little secret. The vast majority of politicians, no matter where they land on the political divide, are hardworking, kind-hearted people, trying to do what they think is best for the people they represent. I encourage you, and especially our younger generation, to get involved in municipal politics. The impact it has on our day-to-day lives is immense, and can truly effect the lives of your neighbours, family, and friends.

For one last time, thank you, it has been an honour, and see you around the neighbourhood!

With love,
